CRITICAL RECEPTION
What the critics have been saying
Within a few years, Guiborat has drawn the leading Champagne critics to Cramant, from Vinous and Decanter to Wine Advocate and Club Oenologique. Their notes keep returning to the same signature: the chalky purity and tension of the northern Côte des Blancs, held with a precision that carries from the top cuvées down to the entry-level Téthys.

“This is a stellar set of new releases from Guiborat. The wines sizzle with tension. A focus on organic farming, freshness in the wines and low dosage yields Champagnes of notable precision and site character. As good as the top wines are, the Téthys is one of the finest wines in its price range. It has become one of my favourite entry-level wines in top grower Champagne.”
Antonio Galloni, Vinous (November 2025)
“This fine grower estate in Cramant produces wines that buzz with the laser-bright energy and chalky purity of the northern Côte des Blancs, unmarked by either spicy oak or creamy malolactic fermentation.”
Tom Hewson, Decanter (May 2024)
“Based in Cramant, Guiborat is an excellent source for readers who admire Champagnes of tension and vibrancy. Champagne lovers will obviously seek out the top offerings, but it would be a shame to miss the NV Blanc de Blancs Téthys.”
Antonio Galloni, Vinous (March 2024)
“Guiborat De Caurés à Mont-Aigu [is among] the top performers of the Grower Champagne Report, wines of remarkable precision in winemaking.”
Essi Avellan MW, Club Oenologique, Grower Champagne Report 2024 (naming Guiborat alongside Egly-Ouriet, Ulysse Collin, and Vilmart & Cie)
“Guiborat is among the new young estate domaines that have emerged in recent years. One of the distinguishing aspects of these Champagnes is that they are all blends of several parcels rather than mono-parcel wines, as is so often the norm these days. I find these Champagnes super-expressive and distinctive, especially considering that the base vintages for most of the wines in this year’s new releases are not the strongest the region has seen of late.”
Antonio Galloni, Vinous (November 2023)
“Serious farming, with cultivated soils and low yields, means that these are concentrated, incisive wines that require only modest dosage, and I was extremely impressed on this first visit. These are very serious wines that merit readers’ attention.”
William Kelley, Wine Advocate (September 2021)
